You also need to virus scan the software and put some trust that there's no malware.* The Windows applications look and feel like Windows 95 applications.Reasons Not To Buy- May not be great in harsh environments (dusty, wet, etc) without a protective enclosure- MAC address is not printed on the casing - makes it harder to identify it on your network when it picks up a DHCP address- I was not a fan of the documentation or downloadable software. The target audience isn't really an English speaking audience. The documentation (and software) is peppered with screenshots in Chinese.- If you're just looking for something that works and is well documented enough that you can just get going quickly, I don't think this is the product for you (or me, for that matter). I feel like I need to spend hours reading and deciphering documentation to do something that should otherwise be simpler. In other words, just give me a few examples of well explained TCP commands, and I'm generally good to go. Unfortunately this was not the case.Good Value?For me, the documentation and code samples need to be better for me to recommend this product... at least as a TCP server connected to a sensor probe, which was my intended use. Unless you've already got a bunch of these products in operation and already know how to operate/use them, I would say it's better to buy a better documented product than this one.

While this has a lot of interesting functions that I'm sure I'll explore at some point, my main interest was to bridge Modus TCP and RTU- which this device will do.Device can be found at 192.168.1.254 (might need to reset it first by shorting the 'DEF' terminal to GND for 5 seconds), then the web configuration page can be opened with a web browser at that IP address. Once in the webpage, I set the preferred IP address for the device, the baud rate for the RTU devices, and select Modbus TCP to RTU in the Protocol drop down box and hit Submit. Device rebooted and worked!They do have a desktop app called VirCom that looks a bit more full featured than the web interface, but I think that's Windows only.Good item that does what it says- hope it holds up.

Gemakkelijk in te stellen en werkt goed tussen een PLC en een kWh meter. Het converteren tussen RS485 (Modbus RTU) en Modbus TCP gaat foutloos.

Top Konverter, tut genau das was ich wollte:- RJ45 auf RS485 / Modbus- HutschienenmontageHabe das Gerät in meinem Netzwerkschrank verbaut und lese damit meinen Stromzähler über Modbus aus. Funktioniert bisher seit einigen Wochen einwandfrei. Habe allerdings auch nichts anderes erwartet, in den ganzen Konvertern ist meist exakt dasselbe drin - was auch bereits seit jeher funktioniert.Lässt sich auch einwandfrei über PoE betreiben.Eine Anleitung liegt nicht bei, aber die Geräte bedienen sich alle ähnlich oder man schaut auf die Herstellerwebsite.Verarbeitung ist top und entspricht dem, was ich für knapp ~40€ erwarten würde.5 Sterne.
