Best vegan protein!
I have been using VEGA protein with greens for a while now. I like the taste and dissolvability of the powder. I started using it because I had trouble with proteins with milk (even though I don't have any lactose issues.) I use it in coffee and to make smoothies and it creates a great vanilla flavor. I love that it contains greens. It does have stevia, which is not my favorite sweetener, but I've gotten used to over the year.

No more bloating
Excellent protein powder! The taste took a little getting used to, but now I enjoy it. I love that it has added greens for an extra nutritional boost. Most importantly, it doesn’t make me feel bloated like whey protein. This was the main reason I made the switch to vegan protein, and I’m glad I did. It mixes well in smoothies or just with almond milk. Clean ingredients, no weird aftertaste, and gentle on my stomach. I will definitely repurchase!

Less bloating than other powders
I'm NOT a vegan but I've been using Vega protein and greens for a couple of years and when I see other products always hesitate with the thought of switching. I've found that most other proteins cause me to bloat, and give some intestinal discomfort. I've used protein powder for years and I just always thought that this was me and had no idea it was caused by the protein brands I was using until I switched. Now I only use Vega brand, and specifically Vega Protein and Greens because the vegan aspect has completely taken away the whey induced bloating I used to just deal with and veggies are a plus.I like the chocolate flavor and although it does have a hint of that chemical aftertaste, it's so much less than most other brands I've tried. Truly, I'm more of a texture person though and whereas many brands are gritty or grainy, Vega Protein and Greens is soft and powdery, almost fluffy. It's very fine. This is great for the texture in milk. It can, however, make it a little more difficult to blend into smoothies as it wants to turn to paste on the sides of the blender glass or float, rather than sink. I use it in smoothies regardless because it's really not that bad, it's just how it goes with that texture of powder (think cocoa powder, more like that).I love knowing that I'm getting veggies in with my protein in a smoothie, and if I need an extra boost of protein later I can just mix the powder with almond or cashew milk and it tastes fine that way, too (although I did notice it does mix more easily with cow's milk). There are other protein powders that provide a higher amount of protein per scoop, but this one is about average and the calories are low which I like. I would definitely recommend.

1/3 the Cost of Optavia
I ordered this product in an attempt to find a protein shake that I can buy that is less expensive than Optavia shakes but that tastes as good. First of all, as far as nutritional value, this VEGA shake has more calories, protein, fat, and sodium than Optavia. Not by a whole lot, but there are some differences. It has less sugar than Optavia. As far as taste, I prefer Optavia. However, the cost is only a third, so that is good. It mixes up well. No problem with that. (I use a small blender.) It says to use water, but I use about half water and half unsweetened vanilla almond milk and then prob 6 or 8 ice cubes. The first time, I did try it with just water and ice cubes. I had to do something to help it bc to me, it was a tad bitter and didn't have much of a good flavor. In my opinion, it is chocolatey, but it has a coconut taste too. Ok. I could drink it in plain water like that if i had to, but I'm sprucing it up some. Like I said, I'm using half almond milk which adds 30 calories. Then I add a teaspoon of truvia or Splenda and a very small shot of vanilla. (Like 1 or 2 drops!) Like this, it's good! I have not had any gut issues. It is gluten-free which is required for me. It does keep me full for a good 2 - 3 hours. I will probably order it again and again instead of getting the optavia shakes. It will definitely save me money in the long run. And for me, the differences in the nutritional value should not make much of a difference. In some cases, it may. (This shake costs 1/3 what Optavia shakes cost.)

Tasty, but way too much iron
I had some Vega from a few years ago that I started using again recently. I really liked it, so when it ran out I just bought more without looking at the label. I noticed I was constipated after using this for a few days, so I finally looked at the label and I was dismayed to learn how much iron is in this recipe. I wish I had compared the old label to this one to be sure, but I feel pretty confident that there wasn't nearly as much iron in the old recipe. The biggest problem here is that there's so much more of your required daily iron than there is of your required daily protein and calories. Pay no attention to the daily protein value listed (33%). The daily values are merely the MINIMUM intake required to stave off ailments. Those figures aren't what will get you to peak health and performance. Anyone who's active needs way more than 60g of protein each day, (as a moderately active woman in my late thirties, my recommended daily protein intake is 200g) but excessive iron not only causes constipation, the buildup of excessive iron has nowhere to go because you can't just pee it out like a lot of other minerals and nutrients. It starts to crystallize in your joints, causing pain and a grinding sensation. (In my ignorance, I've been through this before.)Vega's website refers to this product as daily nutrition, but as a nutritional aid, this is sorely out of balance.

Good vegetarian and non-dairy option
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Not bad. My 11 year old boy will actually drink this. So happy to find a vegetarian protein shake not made with whey. A little aftertaste but not too bad.
