Be carefully tightening the legs !
This is my second Oklahoma Joe, BBQ grill. the first one was the Highlander and the family out grew it. So I ordered this Longhorn. everything was in good shape on arrival from Amazon. The delivery was very great and they handled my grill with care as they unloaded it. Everything was great until I started to assemble it. all the parts were there ! The only problem i had was when i was tightening the legs ,I stripped the threads . (Be careful tightening the legs. snug is good enough). I called the dealer and they are sending a new leg. I'm extremely happy with customer service and the new grill. Can't wait to start grilling.

Awesome barbeque!
This a big barbecue and it's real sturdy. It is very heavy in the box so you need a few people to help you get it on a dolly and put it together. We love our Oklahoma joe and my dad has one that's lasted over 9 years so far in Texas. Buy it because you won't regret it especially if you love barbecue as much as us!

Terrific Smoker/Grill for the money!
I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but after exhaustive research (and my unwillingness to spend three or four times as much for other Smokers) I pulled the trigger on this one. I. LOVE. IT!Don't get me wrong, it isn't perfect but for the money it is great. It does leak smoke, but then again I am not sure I could control one that was totally air tight. I did the recommended mods with the squeeze gasket material on the fire box and then the tape around the openings. Still leaks, but does the job just fine.I love the cooking space and the fact that the fire box can be a quick little grill or use the main cooking area and grill out for a group! I have grilled a bunch of chicken in the main area, steaks for the wife and I in the fire box as well as smoked salmon (absolutely amazing!), ribs (I am still perfecting) and our Thanksgiving Turkey (Wow! Delicious!) The reverse flow really kept the temperature even throughout the cooking area. I added a second thermometer for easier control. Also, after my first bout with the salmon, I started cooking with a charcoal starter and then moved to straight wood chunks unless I needed a serious heat boost. The design of the smoker really kept the meats from getting TOO much smoke flavor! The only real issues I have is that my chimney for starting the charcoal doesn't fit in the fire box very well so it is awkward to start it and dump it in. Also, the door for cleaning out the ashes has HUGE gaps around it which you have to take into account when adjusting the vent for temperature. The last thing to say is that I followed the seasoning guidelines to a "T" and have not had any issue with paint peeling yet.Highly recommend for the amateur/pro-wannabe smoker/griller!

A THOUSAND STARS!
The media could not be loaded. We are faithful to this brand. We moved from Texas to Maine and you can imagine moving from a place where barbecue is life to a place where they use bell peppers and salt as a seasoning and that’s it. We had to leave our old smoker behind because we used it so much in Texas. It was falling apart in crumbling. I bought my husband a brand new one once we moved to Maine and we are able to smoke and cook our favorite briskets and other Texan foods that you just cannot get here. It does not matter what kind of weather is going on outside, we are smoking food. We will forever be faithful to this brand because it is such a sturdy smoker. The capacity is amazing and you can fit so much on there, easy as hell to use and it’s pretty much already assembled. I can’t really comment on cooking time because it’s definitely adjustment going from a hot environment to a freezing environment, but it cooks evenly. If you do not have one of these, and you are looking for a smoker, buy it. You will not be disappointed. It’s great for even beginners.

think twice
materials were fine. seemed heavier duty than others I looked at. However, this thing has more leeks than a kroger produce section. The fire box lets in so much air that the dampener for the fire is ineffective. I lid for the smoker chamber did not fit correctly. I installed the door gasket from Oklahoma Joe. it is wider than the lip, which I wasn't expecting because I ordered it from the same company. guess all the sell is universal gaskets. that again, are wider than necessary. one of the welds on the end of the smoker chamber wasnt even welded correctly. huge gap. the lip inside the smoker that the lid contacts was welded so poorly that it doesnt matter that you use the door gasket. because it can escape behind the welded rest for the door. I installed two of the clamps but again it doesnt matter. again because the door rest it spot welded and air just goes right behind it. bypassing the door and gasket. It is really disappointing because on sale this is a 500 dollar smoker. I was able to seal up the fire box some with some fireproof sealant. The chimney is very short. it is very hard to create a good draft. after having used it I found some extenders online for the chimney. in short, you may want to look at a different brand of smoker. for what you pay, then all the extras you will have to buy to seal it up, it becomes a much more expensive smoker with no way to not leak unless you are going to use 10 kinds of stuff to seal it up. just terrible
