Most standard Lead-Acid chargers will automatically apply and desulfation charge during the charging process. Lithium batteries do not become sulfated, thus a desulfation charge is not needed and can damage the battery. The alternator of your vehicle does not do this desulfation charge, therefore it is safe to charge the battery from the vehicle, but not using a standard Lead-acid charger. If you are going to charge the battery outside of the vehicle a charger with a Lithium charging mode is necessary.

Yes it probably is the way to tell is by looking at your original batterys cold cranking amps, the NLP 5 achieves 250 amps, what does your original say. I'm sure for an Aprilla 125 it will be less. Oh and look at the terminals see which side positive is make sure that is the same. You will also need their charger (genius 1). All the above is true but I'm having an issue with my nlp5 staying charged up when left for a few days.
