For the price, you get two NP-F970 batteries which is a good value. If you already have a nice charger for this type of battery, don't read any further.The included charger works, but the mA current output on AC power is low (150), so it will take a long time to recharge these batteries. When I received the batteries, I put one on the charger and it took about two days to fully charge. On DC power, it looks like it will charge faster, 600mA. I bought a cheap USB charger for this type of battery with .6A (600mA) output and it works nicely, takes hours now to charge not days.

Working great. Holds a charge very well. Charging the battery is a little slow, but I think that might just be the way all these batteries are (not just this brand, just these type of batteries overall).. Otherwise, use one, while the other charges. :-) Good stuff.

First off, I have to say that I thought that the box itself was nice in that it provides a nice way to keep things together between uses. I've got enough gadgets that end up with pieces here and there, and then when you realize you need one cord or something else you're looking all over for it. I like the fact that it has the tabs that slide in to keep it closed. The charger holds the battery securely, so there's no problem while it's plugged into the wall. It glows orange while charging and changes to green when fully charged. I've got others that go from blinking orange to solid orange, which always left me wondering if it was really fully charged or not. This is definitely better in my opinion. It did take a while to charge, but given the size of the batteries, it seems to charge them fast enough. The batteries themselves seemed very powerful and lasted a good long time before needing to be recharged. I could get several hours of video light before having to switch them out, and by that time the other battery had enough time to be recharged, so I could pretty much go on without having to worry about down time. Another thing, they fit perfectly in the light, so there was no worries over whether or not they would come loose. I was looking for a Sony Battery for a while, and This Fits the Bill. I would say perfectly, but Nothing's perfect. However, this takes care of all my needs for a Sony Battery.I received this at a discounted price for the purposes of providing a real world, honest review and in order to provide other Amazon shoppers with details on my experience with the product.

Sony NPF batteries are one of my favorite types of batteries: they're versatile and can power many things. Currently I'm using them as backup sources to power my camera (via v mount to sony npf adapter) and my LED light strips. Interestingly enough these are cheaper and though they are lower rated than another 3rd party brand that I have (DSTE rated at 7900 mah) they are heavier (10.2 oz for these vs 9.5 oz for the DSTE). I haven't formally tested them against each other but I suspect these will outperform the DSTEs. In addition, these are also cheaper by about $10 than the DSTE and come with more items. I've used them on my v mount adapters and to power some lights directly and they work very well, no complaints. The only thing and I've seen this with every 3rd party charger, is that sometimes it won't charge the battery. If that happens, simply take the top plate of the battery off then use a small device such as a screw driver and press (on the bottom side) of the connector. It should push it back up. Usually one or both prongs will be too depressed to connect with the batteries. Another option is to get a dual charger. I received this a few days ago for a discount in return for a review. I had to do a review on some photography equipment, but was lacking a battery to run it off of, so I really did need to get this. The batteries are sizable (and come fully charged, a bonus), 7200 mAh if memory serves, they fit to the equipment they were made for, in this case battery powered photography lighting. The lights turned on instantly, and the batteries kept them going for hours as I attempted a stress test.When I ordered this, I noticed the European adapter plug and was worried that I would need an adapter to use the charger. Thankfully that was never the case, the US plug flips out of the back of the charger, and the battery seats in the cradle easily for charging. Being able to get a battery and a spare is also a bonus, who doesn't need a backup? Overall a good set, everything works as advertised.
