Works as expected in my dash in place of a standard 12v cigarette lighter receptacle. With this in the dash I can hide the actual USB charger behind the dash for a cleaner install that almost looks stock from the outside. I only gave it 4 instead of 5 because the included rubber cover could have been made better.

When I was ready to install the USB plug into cigarette lighter it was not the same size as the cigarette lighter was. It was slightly bigger and would not fit. Was hoping this would fit like the description stated but it did not. It says universal fit for car lighter port but it's too big. I tried to put the cover piece on with it to cover the port when not in use and even that was misproportion and could barely slide on item. I ended up keeping it off because due to the fit it did not look right. It took a while to shave it down to size but then on top of all that, the nut to screw on to the other side was the hardest part. It was ridiculously difficult to turn it on the thread. I had to check if it was on straight and I didn't cross thread it. Maybe on the wrong way? Nothing, this item was just not made well. Now that it's in, it works but the USB cords I plug into it also go in tight like I'm going to break the port off. The port itself is also on the item very flimsy. If it didn't take me so long to make it work I'd 100% take it back. It's just a very cheaply made item, and truthfully it may break before 30 days forcing me to take it back which may just be a blessing in disguise...

The lock nut and threads to secure the panel down are super tight. I used 3-in-1 oil to lubricate it but it was still very tight and hard to lock down, especially with the awkward position that my accessory outlet is in (2007 Honda Civic). I was planning to use this to replace the accessory outlet, with one going to the radio and the other for only charging, but the Sony XAV-AX100 receiver is a jerk and doesn't take kindly to any USB extension cables other than the one provided in the box. The panel itself works fine though so I can't fault it; I'll just have to find another purpose for it.

Getting the 12 Volt out of my 2015 Jeep was the most difficult task while installing this. I think I broke the tabs on the 12 volt getting it out. Install was a breeze. you may be inclined to slide the cover above the threading into the small circular area with no threading near the front of the adapter, don't It should stay on the threaded area or closing it will be difficult. All in All, an easy mod when putting in a stereo system.

Funny thing, bought a Sony XAV-AX100 Car Play and Android Auto radio and this panel to replace the cigarette lighter with both USBs, one of the USB Ports doesn't work with Car Play/Android Auto, it only charges my phone, however the other one did work. So I used the one that doesn't work connected to a Samsung Fast Charger behind the dash, and it looks awesome.Now I have a Fast Charge port and a Car Play/Android Auto port connected to the back of my radio.

I used this to move access to the USB ports from the rear to the front of my television. Want to watch something on a stick, just plug it in, no more reaching behind.

I used these for a homemade rolling rack case i build for an audio server not for a car and it made my life so much better. now the plugs are right where i need them and i don't have to dig to the back of the pc. You get data and power! You could find many uses for these I'm sure but they work a treat for mine!

Bought this along with Aukey CC-T8 Car Charger with Dual Quick Charge 3.0 Port. I have an outlet inside of my center console that really wasn't usable until I bought this product. I drilled a hole with a 1 1/8" paddle bit and it worked perfect. Now my kids have a place to charge their phones whenever we are in the car.
