Having plodded on with a DC01 for 25years (yes it's still going strong, bless you James!) this hand held beauty is a totally different experience. A battery pack system is not going to match the power of mains, but it so much more agile and easy to manipulate around the home. Being able to use it like a wand to clean the high up places is such a novel way of working. We added a short flexible hose to help with the car cleaning and bingo a fab all rounder! Empty the dust canister each time and there's no issue. It's still a little messy (like the DC01), but then you are cleaning after all so some mess is inevitable once the dirt is concentrated.

Hoping the battery lasts as well as my other lithium bosch products as my Dyson was poor in that regard. Also had a Tineco but it stopped working on Max suction but both of theses were better at emptying the dust which is a faff on this Bosch model. Finding it great on hard floors but hard to push on carpets but easy to pull.

I purchased this cordless vacuum to replace a Bosch Power Silence corded that was too cumbersome for my current home. This model (without the accessories) represents the best value, as the additional brushes can be purchased online for a lower overall cost. Unlike other cordless vacuums, the supplied 18V battery is interchangeable with many other Bosch products - drills, strimmers etc, so this is perfect if you plan on purchasing any of these tools in the future.Does it clean well? Yes! Arguably better than my corded vacuum, probably due to the motorised brush bar. My carpets actually felt different underfoot after using this the first few times. It is super-light and therefore very easy to manoeuvre.As others have stated, the dust cannister is small and limited in capacity, but the process of emptying is much less messy compared with larger capacity machines. Less dust, less sneezing! Also, if you clean regularly, the cannister doesn't need the extra capacity. I tend to get around 20 minutes using a mix of standard and turbo modes, which is plenty for my home. The supplied charger is a little slow, but has intelligent charging features to extend the battery life.This little vacuum has transformed my 'Men Behaving Badly' lifestyle!

The vacuum is well made, easy to empty and has a strong suction plus aturbo suction.
