A cheap hand coffee grinder; does the job.
First. Don't expect much. For this price, the grinder works as expected (OK, not great).Construct: all stainless steel case. Looks and feels a decent quality holding in hand. There are plastic parts inside the bean container, housing the burr and the gear. The inside surface of the bean contain is not very smooth. In mine, there is clearly some left over glues (from assembly). Where the plastic part meets the case, there is very small gap. Again, I find two places where are tiny excessive glue drops. Indict a rather careless assembly. The grinder has a black (grey?) ceramic burr. Which is quite surprising. Usually cheap burr grinders use white burr. But in research, many reviews say that black burr lasts longer. The burr and gear are not well fitted together. When trying out the grinder on an empty run, I can fell the burr is wobbling, moving side to side. During one full circle, I can feel some resistances from certain parts, and less friction from other parts. I think the grinder uses a single spring for stabilization. Maybe the spring is too soft, or the parts don't align very well. The burr is probably a off the shelf part, 32mm in diameter. The adjustment. Yes, it is adjustable. However, there is no clear indication how the adjustment is changed. No marks. You loose the big knob and then turn the burr a little. Some trials and errors to find your preferred grind results. So a very careless design. The grind quality. Because the wobbling issue I mentioned above. The result is a bit uneven. For a fine grind (more coarse than espresso), overall OK. Not as uniformed as it claims, definitely got some grains bigger than I wanted. The grind motion is actually OK with the beans. Lots of work.A pretty large ground capacity, about 25-30g. It is plenty for me, for a 3-cup moka express pot.The label says in Chinese, "A low end hand coffee grinder." But not even piece of paper for some simple instructions? So, all in all, not a bad one, small size, good for travel (I don't plan to do that), good capacity. Result is acceptable/OK. I think I can recommend this if you want to try out a hand grinder but are not sure of the investment yet. But personally, I plan to purchase a better (more expensive) one next time.UPDATE, 8/27.I would like to update the review. I tried a second time with a empty run. Adjusted the burr gap. Then after a few turns, found tiny plastic shreds in the ground canister (the bottom cup). Again, I think the assembly is poor and parts are likely not aligned properly. I think the particular one I received is not safe to use.I suggest you make some careful test runs as well. A star is deducted.I am returning it.
